"I have had numerous dogs with problems (I have a type) and Merri has been a phenomenal training resource for helping curb issues from reactivity to introducing my baby to my three dogs in a manner that has all of them happy. She has never judged me or insinuated that their quirks were in any way my fault, rather showed what changes could be made to improve upon our existing relationship for a happier and more fulfilling life. "When we first adopted Milo she was a scared and reactive 11-month old rescue. Merri was patient and educated both Milo and us on canine good citizenship and how to best address Milo's fears. Milo is now 8 years old and we still employ the training techniques Merri taught us. She is a real gem, patient with dogs and humans alike. I cannot recommend her highly enough."
TOM AND KRYSSI
I’ve known Merri every year my dog has been alive. He is seven now and there is no one else I would entrust receiving training from and boarding my dog with. Initially my wife and I took our dog to Merri to receive common obedience training and we noticed right away that her demeanor with a room full of varying dog breeds was one of full control, confidence, enthusiasm and compassion. Through the years, we’ve had our dog receive The Good Canine Citizen training among some others but really what has impressed me most about Merri and her rapport with dogs and owners alike is her willingness to be consulted outside of the immediate training session and offer guidance. We have had some very specific issues come up a few times around food insecurity as well as territorial behavior long after our training with Merri when we had our first child. Merri responded right away to our concerns and consulted us on a plan to try with our dog which went successfully. I feel so grateful to have chosen a dog trainer who cares enough about my dog and what he means to my family to talk openly even when my dog wasn’t in a structured class or anything of the like. She treats boarded dogs like they are her own and as an owner I feel so much better about sending my dog to a place where he will receive structured training and not just remain in a kennel or other setting not receiving nearly as much attention or care. There’s nowhere else I’d consider going to!

"We live in rural Vermont so our dog Ollie is always off leash on his walks through woods, fields and hikes. If he found something delicious to eat or another dog to play with his ears were off. Merri encouraged us to use food and praise as rewards and gave us a variety of strategies to use. She discussed with us the best way to use a training collar, so he would aways respond to us. We wanted to use the collar only when no other option was working. Merri completely supported our approach. She was available for follow-up questions and ideas. Because of her knowledge and skill with dog training, Ollie is now 100% responsive to our commands and, importantly, he is a happy, playful, wonderful member of our family. We would highly recommend her services to people who need help training their dog."
